Recap: Stratton Eagles vs. Eads Eagles

The Stratton Eagles entered their tilt with the Eads Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Stratton strolled past Eads with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 72-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stratton also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Stratton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Von Isenbart, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyler Notter, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Despite the loss, Eads still got an impressive performance from Porter Spady, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Spady hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Stockton Mitchek was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Stratton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Eads, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Merino at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Merino is on a three-game streak of home wins, Stratton a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Eads will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Idalia at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Idalia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
