Basketball Recap: Maclay's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

FAMU DRS came into Monday's match looking for another win against Maclay, but Lauren Guyer wouldn't allow it. The Maclay Marauders enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over the FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers on Monday thanks in part to Guyer, who posted 23 points and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Maclay's points.

FAMU DRS's loss came despite strong showings from Nivre Green and Hailyn Forbes. Green almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds, while Forbes had six points and six boards. Green is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Kaylee Ammons also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

With the victory, Maclay broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6. As for FAMU DRS, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Maclay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-10 win against Altha on the 15th. As for FAMU DRS, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-6 loss against Godby on the 14th.
