Basketball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The match between them and the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers didn't end well, with the Marion Wolves falling 59-43. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stormin' Pointers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Center Point-Urbana, they moved to 6-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Marion will face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Marion has won three straight at home, while Mt. Vernon won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Center Point-Urbana has already played their next contest (against West Delaware), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
