Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Comes Up Short

If Cypress Creek was riding high fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Fivay last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coyotes lost 8-0 to the Springstead Eagles on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Coyotes were not able to get on the board.

Cypress Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Fuglesang, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Cypress Creek has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Springstead, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will take on Wiregrass Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Springstead, they will head out to take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
