Baseball Recap: Central Eagles vs. Midland Valley Mustangs

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Midland Valley Mustangs.

Lawson Hicks was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Hicks was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Hicks wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Branham, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Cohen Phillips was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
