Soccer Recap: Sparta Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Sparta brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let the Portage Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Saturday. Considering Sparta's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 2-4-2. As for Portage, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparta will host La Crosse Central at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portage, they will face off against Sauk Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portage's defense better be ready for this one: Sauk Prairie have averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season.
