Football Preview: North Star Cougars vs. Everett Warriors        
        
		
             The North Star Cougars will square off against the Everett Warriors at 12:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average, (North Star: 9.6, Everett: 18) so any  points scored will be well earned.
 North Star is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They blew past Windber 44-8 at home  on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the  season.
 North Star found their leader in underclassman  Kasey Yoder, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards.  Cash Hawkins was  Yoder's top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Star was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 216  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
 Meanwhile, Everett was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They lost  30-6 to Clear Spring. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 462nd in Pennsylvania, while the Blazers are ranked 142nd in Maryland).
 The  win made it two in a row for North Star and  bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Everett, they now  have a losing record at 2-3.
 Everything came up roses for North Star against Everett in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, as the  squad secured  a  64-31 victory. Does  North Star have another victory up their sleeve, or will Everett turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
