Softball Recap: Forest Park Rangers vs. Jasper Wildcats

Forest Park extended their losing streak to seven on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They came up short against the Jasper Wildcats, falling 12-3. The Rangers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Jasper, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

For Jasper's part, Bryn Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, Carlee Rogers was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Sophie Werner was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Forest Park will challenge Heritage Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jasper, they will square off against Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
