Soccer Recap: Crete-Monee Comes Up Short

Crete-Monee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Thornwood Thunderbirds, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Thornwood this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Monday.

Crete-Monee was without their leading scorer, Pauline Magnaye, in Thursday's contest. With Magnaye sidelined, Kaylee Mazur got her first action of the season.

Crete-Monee's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Thornwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-8-1.

Looking ahead, Crete-Monee will challenge Oak Lawn at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Crete-Monee are facing Oak Lawn at the right time seeing as Oak Lawn are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Thornwood, they will welcome Kankakee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
