Softball Game Preview: Straughn Tigers vs. Pike County Bulldogs

The Straughn Tigers will head out to take on the Pike County Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Straughn and four for Pike County.

Straughn fell victim to Dale County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 14th.

Meanwhile, Pike County also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Opp on Thursday, falling 10-0.

Pike County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailia Beacham, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Pike County's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Straughn, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Everything went Straughn's way against Pike County in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Straughn made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
