Baseball Recap: Monument Valley Takes a Loss

Monument Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Ganado Hornets. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 7-3 to the Hornets when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Roque Todacheene was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ganado, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monument Valley will challenge Many Farms at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ganado, they will square off against Chinle at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ganado is facing Chinle at the right time seeing as Chinle is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
