Volleyball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

If Ponderosa was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Manual last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ponderosa Mustangs came up short against the Eaglecrest Raptors on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

While Ponderosa was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Eaglecrest's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Ren Rosenberg paced Ponderosa's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rosenberg got some help from Wesley Bolline and his 11 assists.

Ponderosa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eaglecrest, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

After both having extra time off, Ponderosa and Chaparral will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Eaglecrest, they will head out to square off against Arvada West at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
