Soccer Game Preview: Hanford vs. Dinuba

Hanford hasn't had much luck against Dinuba recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hanford Bullpups will face off against the Dinuba Emperors at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hanford's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Lemoore 5-0. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bullpups yet this season.

They hit Lemoore with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alan Enriquez (3), Luis Beltran, and Christopher Lopez.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dinuba). They walked away with a 5-3 win over Mission Oak on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Emperors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Hawks are ranked 125th).

Hanford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Dinuba, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-4.
