Calhoun/Brussels and Brown County are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Warriors will host the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Brown County will be up against a hot Calhoun/Brussels team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. The Warriors took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Routt Catholic/Lutheran. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Calhoun/Brussels didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rodney Johnson and Jacob Brannan. Brannan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Brown County never let their opponents score on Friday. They really took it to North Greene for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hornets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Spartans are ranked 484th).

Brown County's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Calhoun/Brussels, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Calhoun/Brussels came out on top in a nail-biter against Brown County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 25-22. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
