Basketball Game Preview: Queens Complex vs. Bayside Commodores

After both having extra time off, Queens Complex and the Bayside Commodores will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Queens Complex is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 65-48 win over Bryant two weeks ago. Given Queens Complex's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Bryant is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bayside put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 59-24 victory over Flushing. The match marked the Commodores' most dominant win of the season so far.

Bayside's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Queens Complex, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Queens Complex suffered a grim 64-43 defeat to Bayside when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Can Queens Complex avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
