Softball Recap: Samson Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Florala, Samson was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Pleasant Home Eagles. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Molly Glisson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Glisson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

In other pitching news, Kendra Balch looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Sormrude, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Ally Zorn, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Samson's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Pleasant Home, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Samson will host Geneva County at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pleasant Home, they will face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
