Baseball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They fell 12-7 to the Hobart Brickies. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 15-2 to the Brickies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Blake Laba made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs. Christian Cutka was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Hobart, they now have a winning record of 12-11. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Hobart's side, they got a massive performance out of Landon Koritko, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Koritko has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Stafford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Coming up, Wheeler will venture away from home to square off against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hobart, they will challenge Lowell at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
