Football Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

After soaring to 53 points the game before, Granite Hills was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were beaten by the Serrano Diamondbacks 43-13. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

Aamir Sneed threw for 92 yards and two TDs. Nehemiah Hankins was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Granite Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Serrano, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will square off against Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Serrano, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Hills at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Diamondbacks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
