Recap: Colbert Heights Wildcats vs. Lauderdale County Tigers
The Colbert Heights Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 41-7 loss at the hands of Lauderdale County. Colbert Heights has struggled against Lauderdale County recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Micah Christensen went supernova for Lauderdale County, rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Christensen was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Braxton Rose also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.
Colbert Heights' loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Mars Hill Bible and 6-3 Lexington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.5% over those games). As for Lauderdale County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert Heights will take on Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Lauderdale County, they will head out on the road to face off against Brooks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
