The Argonaut Mustangs will challenge the Le Grand Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Argonaut comes in on seven and Le Grand on three.
Argonaut is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Colfax as they made off with an 18-2 win. Considering the Mustangs have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Dewald was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, AJ Schultz was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Bailey Baker, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Argonaut always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colfax only posted an OBP of .150.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Le Grand ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Big Valley Christian 4-3.
Ava Avila spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Ceja, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game.
Le Grand's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Argonaut, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Argonaut has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Le Grand struggles in that department as they've averaged .502. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Argonaut was able to grind out a solid win over Le Grand in their previous matchup back in May of 2015, winning 6-3. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
