It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chatham can now relate to. They fell 49-40 to the James River Knights on Thursday. The Cavaliers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Chatham lost, don't look at Sydney Ward. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Ward also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jakiyah Giggetts, who posted 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

Chatham's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for James River, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Chatham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for James River, they have already played their next contest, a 71-55 loss against Liberty on the 28th.
