Bentonville West gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Greenwood Bulldogs. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Harris Vinson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Vinson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Damion Bridgeman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kadean Jacobs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bentonville West will host Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northside will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bentonville West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenwood, they will be playing at home against Booneville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
