Jonah Muniz put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Friday. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Lamesa: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

Muniz's strong effort led Lamesa over Alpine and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
