Baseball Game Preview: East Linn Christian Academy Eagles vs. Crosshill Christian Eagles

East Linn Christian Academy will face off against Crosshill Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Linn Christian Academy hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times East Linn Christian Academy and Regis had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles lost 17-0 to the Rams on Friday.

Crosshill Christian let Monroe stack four runs on them in the third inning on Friday but luckily Crosshill Christian prevailed anyway. The Eagles skirted past the Dragons 8-6.

Miles Lute made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Carter Hinderks was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayden Isaacson, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Crosshill Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Crosshill Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

East Linn Christian Academy took their win against Crosshill Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score.
