Basketball Recap: Lillian Nolan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maeser Prep Academy over St. Joseph

Maeser Prep Academy lost against St. Joseph back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maeser Prep Academy Lions took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Joseph Jayhawks. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lillian Nolan, who went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Nolan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vivianny Sarmiento, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points.

Maeser Prep Academy's record now sits at 5-11. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing American Heritage the next time they take the court. St. Joseph will head out to face American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Maeser Prep Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
