Softball Recap: Peninsula Comes Up Short

Peninsula came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Mira Costa Mustangs by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since March 26th.

Frances Toman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Peninsula dropped their record down to 9-18 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Mira Costa, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-18.

Peninsula does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mira Costa, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-5 defeat against Cerritos on the 15th.
