Softball Game Preview: Mathews Mustangs vs. Berea-Midpark Titans

The Mathews Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Berea-Midpark Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mathews will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Mathews' win against Maplewood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 12th.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Berea-Midpark made sure to put some runs up on the board against Elyria on Wednesday. The Titans never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Mathews' record now sits at 15-3. As for Berea-Midpark, their record is now 12-4-1.

Mathews came up short against Berea-Midpark in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
