Recap: Madison Central Indians vs. Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers

The Madison Central Indians struggled with assists on Wednesday (the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Madison Central took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Breckinridge County. Madison Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tiana Long, who scored seven points. Cameryn Ridderikhoff was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Madison Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Breckinridge County found their leader in underclassman Elizabeth Grimes, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Caroline Lucas, who scored 15 points.

Madison Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Breckinridge County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Madison Central is on the road again on Thursday and play against Greenwood at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Greenwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. Breckinridge County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Henderson County at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Henderson County is ranked 54th, while Breckinridge County is ranked 41st).
