Basketball Game Preview: Chinle Wildcats vs. Coolidge Bears

The Chinle Wildcats will challenge the Coolidge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chinle heads in on the heels of a playoff match last Thursday. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuba City. It was the first time this season that the Wildcats let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Coolidge had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.8 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 37-31 W against the Shamrocks.

Coolidge's win came from a few key players Chinle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alaysia White, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 48 times she's played. Amaira Miguel was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Coolidge pushed their record up to 20-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.7 points. As for Chinle, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-2.
