Preview: Avon Panthers vs. Norfolk County Agricultural Rams
Avon is 6-0 against Norfolk County Agricultural since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Avon Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Norfolk County Agricultural Rams at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Avon has three straight wins, Norfolk County Agricultural has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Avon took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 62-32 victory over Rising Tide. With Avon ahead 32-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Avon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Edwards, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Edwards' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Guerrier, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 89-47, which was the final score in Norfolk County Agricultural's tilt against Nashoba Valley Tech on Monday.
Avon's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, their loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Avon against Norfolk County Agricultural in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 68-41 victory. Will Avon repeat their success, or does Norfolk County Agricultural have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
