Volleyball Recap: Rock Port Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Rock Port waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the West Platte Bluejays as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Blue Jays: when they faced off against the Bluejays two weeks ago, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Rock Port walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-16.

Braylyn Wood paced Rock Port's offense, picking up 14 kills. Wood got some help from Stevie Gaines and her 16 assists. Ella Meyerkorth controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Rock Port's victory bumped their record up to 23-5-3. As for West Platte, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Rock Port will venture away from home to challenge North Nodaway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Jays are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Platte, they are taking a road trip to square off against Plattsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
