On Tuesday Makaylee Gantt struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk), which was good enough to also set a new career-low in walks. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her eighth in a row with more than six strikeouts. On the season, she has an ERA of 4.28 over 54 innings pitched.

Gantt's strong effort led Highland Tech over Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
