League recap: Ragland extends winning streak with victory over Falkville

Ragland extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 6 this week by beating Falkville, 24-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Purple Devils.

Sumiton Christian took down Southeastern 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Ragland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. KiJana Lindsay threw for 100 yards and Jimmy Brock had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Lindsay chipped in 121 yards. Jacob Brewster helped Ragland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Aaron Estes and Hunter Woodall the Blue Devils have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Estes leads the league in passing with 785 yards, while Woodall has rushed for 1017 yards this season. Jonathan Nix's team's Brock leads the league in receiving yards with 461 on 17 catches.

Meek and Shades Mountain Christian played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Meek eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
