Recap: Roger Bacon Spartans vs. Purcell Marian Cavaliers
The Roger Bacon Spartans lost against the Purcell Marian Cavaliers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Roger Bacon was outmatched by Purcell Marian at home and fell 71-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Roger Bacon in their matchups with Purcell Marian: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mariah Henderson, who scored eight points. Morgan Rohling was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Roger Bacon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Purcell Marian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Roger Bacon will head out on the road to face off against Clermont Northeastern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Purcell Marian will be home for the holidays to greet Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Purcell Marian is ranked fourth).
