Basketball Recap: Roman Escobar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cypress Christian over Legacy Prep Christian Academy

Cypress Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 70-50 to the Legacy Prep Christian Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 back in January.

Cypress Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Roman Escobar, who posted nine points. Kolton Kurek was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Cypress Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Cypress Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-21. As for Legacy Prep Christian Academy, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.

Cypress Christian has already played their next contest (against Frassati Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Legacy Prep Christian Academy will be playing at home against The Woodlands Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Woodlands Christian Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Legacy Prep Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
