Volleyball Game Preview: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Coalinga Horned Toads

The Morro Bay Pirates will take on the Coalinga Horned Toads at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Morro Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since September 27th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Morro Bay got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-14, 19-25, 25-20, 19-25, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Coalinga had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Conquistadores.

Coalinga was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-11, 25-23.

Coalinga's win bumped their record up to 24-11-2. As for Morro Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 20-24.
