Basketball Recap: Curlew Piles Up the Points Against Varsity Opponent

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Inchelium, Curlew was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 65-20. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Leading Curlew to victory were Jake Olson and Gabriel (Gabe) Pak. Olson went 12 for 22 en route to 30 points, while Pak went 10 of 18 on his way to 21 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Pak a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Engen, who posted four points.

Curlew's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15.

Curlew does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Varsity Opponent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 79-34 defeat against Bessemer Academy on the 28th.
