Baseball Game Preview: North Valley Christian Academy Lions vs. Tempe Prep Knights

The North Valley Christian Academy Lions will take on the Tempe Prep Knights at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe Prep took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on North Valley Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

North Valley Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Heritage Academy by a score of 10-5 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Sam Primack and Daniel Schoenleb made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Primack struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Schoenleb pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Primack scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Schoenleb scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, Schoenleb posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Duvuagn Pryce was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Brayden Collins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Meanwhile, Tempe Prep fell victim to Tonopah Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Phoenix.

North Valley Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9-1. As for Tempe Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

North Valley Christian Academy suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Tempe Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can North Valley Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
