Football Game Preview: Good Hope Raiders vs. West Morgan Rebels + Official Tickets

The Good Hope Raiders will challenge the West Morgan Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Good Hope 12, West Morgan 10.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Good Hope is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cherokee County 28-26.

A big part of Good Hope's victory came down to the chemistry between Web Buchanan and his top target Carter Rutherford. Buchanan threw for 100 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes while Rutherford picked up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those passing yards were Buchanan's first of the season.

Meanwhile, West Morgan put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 55-21 win over Randolph School. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Good Hope better keep an eye on MacArri Johnson. He was instrumental in West Morgan's win, rushing for 134 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Johnson's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.

West Morgan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.

Good Hope's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for West Morgan, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Good Hope came up short against West Morgan when the teams last played back in August of 2021, falling 34-28. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
