Park Crossing turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: Park Crossing Thunderbirds vs. Brewbaker Tech Rams

There's no place like home for the Park Crossing Thunderbirds, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Brewbaker Tech by a score of 58-48 on Thursday. Given Park Crossing's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Brewbaker Tech is ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Park Crossing had a senior duo take command as Jayden Scott scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds and Caden Anderson-teal dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacari Johnson, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.

Brewbaker Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Honer, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Honer scored a full 33.3% of Brewbaker Tech's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Park Crossing now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Brewbaker Tech, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Park Crossing will take on Charles Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Charles Henderson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 335 points over their last five matchups. As for Brewbaker Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against LAMP at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LAMP will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
