Baseball Recap: Dock Mennonite Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Dock Mennonite unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 8-5 to the Springfield Cougars on Friday.

Brayden Kratz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bradica, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Dock Mennonite will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Collegium Charter at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to take on Marple Newtown at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give Springfield their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
