The Edgewood Mustangs will square off against the Sullivan Golden Arrows at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Edgewood will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Brown County on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Eagles. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
BRYLEE MOORE was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Edgewood let OLIVIA McPHERSON and LIZZY AUSTIN run wild. McPHERSON got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while AUSTIN went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four RBI gave McPHERSON a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of SYDNEY AUSTIN, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Edgewood hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brown County struck out 14 times.
Meanwhile, Sullivan entered their tilt with Cascade on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Cadets by a score of 8-4.
Rachel Eslinger and Jaylynn Hobbs did most of the damage at the plate: Eslinger went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Hobbs went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Kensley Wiltermood was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Sullivan's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Edgewood hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Sullivan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
