Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Academy LIONS vs. Holly Grove Christian Eagles

On Thursday, Calvary Christian Academy came up short against Eastern Shore HomeSchool and fell 59-47.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Holly Grove Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 victory over Faith Baptist School on Monday. The Eagles pushed the score to 45-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jackson Ellis and Devin Culbertson. Ellis had a solid game and dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Culbertson was balling out in the loss, putting up 21 points and six steals.

Calvary Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Holly Grove Christian, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
