Softball Recap: Reed Starts Season with Victory at Home

Reed gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They never let the McQueen Lancers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Hayley Noble made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kehaulani Tambaoan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

McQueen's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reed will challenge Douglas at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Reed their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for McQueen, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Damonte Ranch at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
