Greenwood extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 12-11 to the Trojans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

A.J. Adlon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Michael Hoy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Beneito, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Upper Dauphin Area, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 31st.
On Upper Dauphin Area's side, Conner Wenrich tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Grassmyer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Erdley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, Greenwood will square off against Line Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they will challenge Halifax at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
