Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Technical Drops Season-High Score on Jay

Brooklyn Technical fought the good fight in their overtime game against Jay on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 89-84 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. On the bright side, the 84- point performance marked the Engineers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Several Engineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathaniel Ajayi, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavious Scott, who went 8-for-17 en route to 27 points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Brooklyn Technical and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Brooklyn Technical and Robeson Business Tech will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Jay will be paying especially close attention to the Engineers' matchup: after the Engineers face off against Hunter College, they'll take on Jay again at 5:00 p.m. on February 3, 2026.
