Basketball Game Preview: Chester Yellowjackets vs. Onalaska Wildcats

The Chester Yellowjackets will be taking part in a tournament against the Onalaska Wildcats at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Chester kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 31-6 to West Hardin.

Meanwhile, Onalaska was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Pollok Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since November 22, 2024.

Chester was dealt a bruising 46-16 defeat at the hands of Onalaska when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Maryjoy Cariaga (who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
