Soccer Recap: Glenn Comes Up Short

After flying high against Whitney last Tuesday, Glenn came back down to earth. The Glenn Eagles fell just short of the Artesia Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in January.

Juan D. Martinez wasn't going to let Artesia walk away unscathed as he scored both of Glenn's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Glenn has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8-2 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Artesia, they pushed their record up to 14-2-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenn will head out to challenge Cerritos at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season. Artesia has already played their next matchup (against Pioneer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
