Bridgeport won the last time they faced Robert C. Byrd and things went their way on Saturday too. The Indians walked away with a 2-0 win over the Eagles.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23.

Taylor Randolph paced Bridgeport's offense, picking up eight kills. Randolph got some help from Addison Veigel and her eight assists. Veigel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Bridgeport's victory bumped their record up to 25-11-5. As for Robert C. Byrd, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Bridgeport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Fairmont Senior on the 18th. As for Robert C. Byrd, they will square off against South Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
