If St. Joseph Notre Dame was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of College Prep on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pilots fell just short of the Alameda Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Pilots' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

St. Joseph Notre Dame actually scored more points across those five sets (106-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 15-25, 17-15.

St. Joseph Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Alameda, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Notre Dame will host Athenian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alameda, they will take on Castro Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
